Daoyi Zhang—Professor and Doctoral Supervisor
Biography
Daoyi Zhang, professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Arts, Southeast University, was born in November, 1932.
He enjoys the special government allowance from the State Council.
Education & Work Experience
1949—1952: B.A. (Department of Literature and Art, East China University, which incorporated into Shandong University in 1950).
1952—1958: taught at East China Art College
1953—1957: studied theory on history of pattern, arts and crafts under the instruction of Master Zhifo Chen and Xunqin Pang.
1958—1994: taught at Nanjing University of Arts
1994--: taught at Southeast University, established the first Department of Arts Studies in China and was authorized to established centers for Master, Doctor and Postdoctoral studies.
Research Interests
Artistic Theory, Folklore Studies, Arts and Crafts(Art of Design)
Research Achievements
Published over ten kinds of monographs and nearly 300 papers. He served as the chief-editor of the magazine Chinese Folk Arts and Crafts and Study of Aesthetics and Art.
